instalar os Driver da ATI

Olá galera, sou meio novo no Linux. Estou usando a distro openSuse 10.3- 2.6.22.13-0.3. Instalei ontem o driver do site da ATI, instalei com (sh ati-driver-installer-8.443.1-x86.x86_64.run) aparecei a tela com um tipo de wizard, e só foi dar next, next e pronto. Contudo ao iniciar o pc, apos fazer todas as verificações o monitor fica preto. Só estou conseguindo utilizar o linux via mode texto. Poderiam me ajudar como instalar o driver de forma correta para que possa utilizar o KDE, desde já obrigado.

No opensuse, a melhor forma de instalar e configurar o sistema é atravez do yast, pois se trata de uma ferramenta poderossima, o procedimento mais adequado seria o seguinte:

alt+f2 - yast - sofware - repositorio da comunidade
dai vc habilita o repositorio da ATI
Despois acesso no yast Gestao de sofware.
Pacotes para instalar:
ati-fglrx-kmp-<kernelflavour>
Substitua kernelflavour por: default, smp, ou bigsmp
normalmente o default seria a escolha, a menos que esteja usando outro kernel.

Outro modo seria buscar no site pelo 1-click-install do drive, mais acho que só tem da nvidia, em todo caso fica ai outra dica, pra instalar outros softwares.

Obrigado pela dica, mas apos instalar o tal driver, quando inicio o KDE o monitor fica todo preto. Como poderia fazer que a parte gráfica voltasse a funcionar.

para voltar a funcionar do jeito que ta... edita o arquivo: /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Ele controla o que será carregado quando voce usa o "X"

Troca a linha da Seção: "Device"
que provavelmente tem "fglrx" por "radeon" ou "ati", ou até "vesa" senão, funcionar nenhum dos outros dois.....

Volta pro console: CTRL + ALT + F1,F2,F3 (do F1 até o F6 é console, F7 até F12 é parte gráfica)

sudo pico /etc/X11/xorg.conf
ou
sudo vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf

pico e vim são editores de texto, em modo texto (deu pra entender?! xD)... voce escolhe,... eu sou apx pelo pico, mas não vem padrão nas distros, o vim eh padrão.

Na linha Driver, altere para "ati", "radeon" ou "vesa", soh para poder entrar no terminal gráfico...

volte no terminal, onde estava executando o "X" server,... geralmente essas distros deixam ativado o init 4,... CTRL + ALT + F7, depois que voltar vai continuar a tela preta... dai vc reinicia o servidor kdm, CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE

Se mesmo assim der pau, reinicia o pc.

Se mesmo assim não der, copia esse xorg.conf:

wget http://200.204.198.164/zago/drivers/suse10-xorgvesa.txt

sudo cp /DIRETORIOONDESALVOUOARQUIVO/suse10-xorgvesa.txt /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Se mesmo assim não der, ufa,... reconfigura o Xorg:

sudo X -configure

Esses ultimos três comandos todos no console, não no modo gráfico.

Um desses três funcionará... ou pelo menos deverá xDDDD ... Dai voce pode tentar instalar denovo os drivers da ATI.

Valeu pela dica, consegui voltar a interface gráfica e reinstalar o Driver da ATI. O único problema que ainda estou com o Mesa na parte de OpenGL. Gostaria de saber como resolver este problema de para deixar o Opengl sendo da ATI,desde já muito obrigado.

Yeap,... ta quase duplicado teu xorg, o que pode causar uma certa confusão, pela instalação o driver carregado deve ser o fglrx:

ANTES DE MAIS NADA, FAÇA BACKUP DO XORG xD
Agora que ele está funcionando, vamos fazer um backup dele para qualquer coisa voltarmos a funcionar.

$ sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.copia

Pronto,... agora edite o teu Xorg para usar só o fglrx:

Se aparecer tela preta, não aparecer nada der algum tipo de pau,... já presumo que seu driver ATI fglrx não foi instalado corretamente. Qualquer coisa, posta a saída de erro, ou siga os passos abaixo xD

No console ou abra um terminal e digite:
$ sudo lsmod | grep fglrx

Se aparecer o driver ele está sendo carregado.

Se não, verifique se os drivers "ati" "radeon" estão sendo carregados:

$ sudo lsmod | grep ati
$ sudo lsmod | grep radeon
$ sudo lsmod | grep drm

Se algum deles estiver sendo carregao, deverá ser excluído, pois não funcionam junto com o "fglrx"

$ sudo rmmod ati
$ sudo rmmod radeon
$ sudo rmmod fglrx

Pronto, agora vamos ver se o driver da ATI/proprietária, foi compilado corretamente:

$ sudo modprobe fglrx

Para verificar se a instalação foi feita corretamente do driver da ati edite:

vi/vim/pico (o editor que preferir)

$ pico /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install

Contudo, se o driver subiu não irá conter erros, se contiver erros. desinstale o driver e tente novamente:

$ sudo /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh

Olá, o xorg que vc me passou nâo iniciava o KDE, entâo desistalei o driver da ATI como vc disse. E o reinstalei, agora meu xorg.conf está assim:

Mas contudo,ainda estou sem a aceleração 3D, pelo que o fglrxinfo aponta..

Por favor, me ajudem, estou bem perdido.

Após instalar o drive rode o comando :

#sax2 -r

reinicie o X, e confere

$glxgears

baixe o 1-click-install da ati

http://opensuse-community.org/ati.ymp

depois no terminal digita

$sudo aticonfig --initial

para configurar o drive da ati
