instalando libtiff.so no ubuntun

Qual é comando usado para fazer a instalação da biblioteca libtiff.so no Ubuntu 14.10?

digita no terminal

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libtiff4

Não deu certo apareceu:
E: O pacote 'libtiff4' não possui candidato para instalação

eu queria de fato é biblioteca libtiff.so

Procure pelo pacote certo, então, usando o apt-cache.

Veja o que mostra na minha máquina, por exemplo.

$ apt-cache search libtiff

libtiff-doc - TIFF manipulation and conversion documentation

libtiff-tools - TIFF manipulation and conversion tools

libtiff4-dev - Tag Image File Format library (TIFF), transitional package

No caso, o pacote a instalar seria o libtiff5-dev.

Eu tentei todos esses comandos listado acima e muitos eu já tinha instalado e nenhum deles tem essa biblioteca libtiff.so

Amigo , tente isso :

Instale o Zypper : http://www.vivaolinux.com.br/artigo/Usando-e-abusando-do-Zypper

Depois faça isso :


$ zypper in libtiff.so

Maso ZYPPEr é uma distribuições Linux, não teria como eu instalar libtiff.so
para o Ubuntu 14.10?
