Locale com erro de syntaxe

Colegas, boa tarde.

estava com um problema de add-apt-repository. Após soluciona-lo o terminal começou a apresentar um erro mirabolante! Sempre que eu entro com o comando apt-get ou aptitude, o seguinte erro de syntaxe é reportado

/usr/bin/locale: 23: /usr/bin/locale: /DirectClassPacket: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 34: /usr/bin/locale: currentfile: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 35: /usr/bin/locale: compression: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 37: /usr/bin/locale: /number_pixels: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 40: /usr/bin/locale: currentfile: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 41: /usr/bin/locale: number_pixels: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 43: /usr/bin/locale: 0: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 45: /usr/bin/locale: pixels: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 47: /usr/bin/locale: pixels: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 50: /usr/bin/locale: /DirectClassImage: not found
/usr/bin/locale: 74: /usr/bin/locale: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting "}")

Eu já reinstalei o locale mas isso não ajudou.

Alguem ja viu isso antes? Dica para resolver?
