Imagem quebrada no virtualbox (e outros programas)

Cambada, to com um problema estranho no qual um aplicativo "quebra" em determinados momentos, exemplo abaixo:

Acontece exatamente a mesma coisa no VLC, o qual volta ao normal entrando e saindo de tela cheia e por isso eu nunca fui atrás de uma solução, já que não me atrapalhava mas agora ta aparecendo no vbox também e a parada ficou séria demais pra ignorar.

To usando Xorg 1.19.6 com as seguintes USE flags:

Se interessar pra alguém que venha a procurar isso no futuro, compilar o vlc com a flag -matroska consertou ele e o virtualbox parou de dar pau também, sabe-se lá o porque.

Provavelmente isso seria uma dependência, compilada com algum erro. Quando compilou o vlc, ele deve ter adicionado algo a mais no Qt, que por sua vez, o virtualbox usa.
