Queria que alguém me ajudasse com o problema de inicialização lenta, demora uns 5 minutos ou mais para iniciar o Ubuntu. Outra pessoa me passou a dica de fazer o comando dmesg. O erro acontece a partir do 43.######

vc que colocou o outro tópico, agora de tarde. não?
vc parece estar com problema de disco HD,ou de pente de memoria ou d eBIOS. tentou dar boot com CD de Ubuntu, como se fosse instalar de novo, so que vc não vai instalar, só rodar, isto é, seUbntu Live, vc consegue usar?
é só o linux que demora ou tb win, se vc tem windows em boot duplo?

Tem gato na tuba!

Na configuração de ata4 o sistema está fazendo várias tentativas, informando que a resposta da porta está lenta.

O dispositivo não está pronto (erro n. 16).

Está forçando o reset por hardware em cada uma tas tentativas.

A velocidade está limitada a PIO4 e foram tentadas sem sucesso udma33 e udma25.

Por fim, depois de marchas e contramarchas, instalou como dma25.

Deve estar realmente uma verdadeira carroça.

Veja se a bios setup está com os parâmetros corretos.

Eu postei hoje a tarde sim, no fórum de iniciantes em linux (e sou) com o problema na configuração da placa de vídeo e esse de inicialização.

Esse problema ocorre tanto com boot single como agora que estou usando dual boot, e o win tá iniciando bem rápido (30s + ou -) como sempre esteve. O win eu rodo em um Samsung de 80Gb e 7400rpm, o Ubuntu nesse Seagate de 40Gb e 5400rpm.

Teste de memória eu executei quando iniciei pelo CD e não acusou nenhum erro.
Sobre esses parâmetros da bios, como eu poderia ver (seria del na primeira tela?) e qual é o parâmetro correto?
