impressora brother hl-2140 parou de funcionar apos a atualização e nao reconhece no cups

impressora brother hl-2140 estava funcionando normalmente a 2 anos apos a atualização os drivers (que sao 32bits AUR ) nao funcionaram mais (nao aparece no system-config-printer )...

o driver que uso é esse (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brother-hl2140/) que usa um driver original da impressora para fedora e ubuntu

acredito que seja algum modulo do sistema desatualizado , nao sei se tem haver o modprobe printer nao existe mais ...

ja estou batendo a uma semana ainda sem sucesso , o estranho que da vez passada com 10 min ja estava rodando...
