tirar os ? dos arquivos [RESOLVIDO]

eu tenho um servidor (debian) aqui na empresa onde trabalho, e aqui tem um esquema de backup de arquivos
o problema é que quando o debian copia os arquivos que contenham ç ou acentos das máquinas windows, ele coloca ? no lugar deles
um exemplo tem um arquivo que se chama relação, ele copia como rela??o e não abre o arquivo, da um erro dizendo que rela??o não existe
alguém sabe se existe um pacote que tire esses erros?

Talvez o problema esteja relacionado com a codificação de caracteres no seu Debian.

O seu sistema está com o idioma us, quando deveria ser br. Verifique o seu arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf, ou no painel do controle do gnome ou kde.
Por isso não reconhece caracteres do português, só do inglês.

achei uma solução, se bem que não é tão eficaz, mas
funciona
eu só renomeei o arquivo que ele abriu XD

na verdade não é muito aconselhável usar acentos e outros caracteres quando você usa windows e linux em conjunto. é bom sempre usar os arquivos com letras minúsculas também, por causa do Linux.
