Totem sem ajustes de brilho e constraste [RESOLVIDO]

Olá. Acabei de instalar o ubuntu 8.04 numa pcchips a15g tudo está ok com excessão do totem. Os controles de brilho e contraste não tem qualquer efeito. Já dei os seguintes comandos:

sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/hardy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add - && sudo apt-get update

sudo update-alternatives --config totem escolhi o totem xine mas parece ter ficado dividido

sudo apt-get install totem-xine
sudo apt-get remove totem totem-gstreamer

ai depois desse, excluiu todo o totem.

Estranho pois no outro pc que tinha apliquei o tutorial e funcionou de primeira, e usava o totem xine.

Como fazer?

Verifique se seu sistema (ou melhor, sua placa) tem suporte ao Xv, dê um:
xvinfo
e veja se há resultado.

Recomendo instalar o Mplayer e tentar abrir um vídeo por ele dentro de um terminal, que dirá qual saída de vídeo (X11, sdl, Xv, etc...) está sendo usada.

Tá... seu XV está OK...
Você está usando compositing (Beryl/compiz/compiz-fusion)?
Tete instalar o MPlayer e testar um vídeo com:
mplayer <video> -vo xv

Oi, consegui! Não instalei o mplayer, mas achei o arquivo de configuração do totem e mudei a saida de video de xv para xshm e funcionou! Ainda bem!
