1. Como Saber se minha Placa de Video esta Instalada

Olá, digitei o "lspci"
apareceu: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Whistler [AMD Radeon HD 6600M Series]

Vi aqui "http://blog.nucleoassistir.com/2012/03/11/linux-instalacao-do-driver-proprietario-de-video-atiradeon-em-linux/" que isto mostra qual é meu hardware grafico, com o intuito de descobrir qual é para pegar na AMD o driver a instalar.

Porem, eu nao sei se ele ja foi instalado automaticamente, e se realmente preciso ou nao instalar.

Uso ubuntu 11.10
Nao fiz instalacao manual de nenhum driver, só que o fps no counter strike da steam pra linux e ate mesmo outros jogos, sempre fica variando muito e xegando a 20, onde um pentium 4 com uma fx5200 eu gradava fps 70 fixo.

Essa placa que video que tenho nao pode variar o fps e nunca baixar de 70, tinha que ficar no 100.
é um dell com essa amd radeon 6000M series, deveria fixar o fps...

entao estou instalando segundo aquele tutorial... ainda nao terminei a instalacao, mas eu gostaria de saber, como identifico se ja esta instalado, tem algo que eu possa fazer?

obs. instalou agora aqui manualmente o driver da vga... so falta reiniciar o pc, mas tem como eu saber se ja esta instalado? existe algo pra mim fazer se voltar com esse fps baixo? ja dou o retorno do fps apos reiniciar, obrigado.. ate pra mim saber se instalou certo

os drivers empacoteados da ATI/AMD são pacotes que sempre tem fglrx no nome,

Se sua distro tem alguma maneira de mostrar o que está instalado procure fglrx

Em dúvida instale o driver do fabricante.
