Alterar software GPL e republicar

Olá

Estou melhorando e passando pra portugues um software de conecção remota (TightVNC) e
gostaria de tirar uma duvida se possível, por exemplo o cabeçalho abaixo é o original (outro desenvolvedor) mas fiz uma modificação no codigo e vou publicar,
Como proceder pra por meu cabeçalho? tenho que manter este cabeçalho e por o meu abaixo dele?
E no menu about do sistema posso alterar as descrições e colocar as minhas?

coloque Modified (ou translated, ou os dois) by: e seu nome email etc...

no menu about, também pode modificar, mas mantenha a citação da autoria original,
tipo coloque tb modified -translated by....

do sabayon Linux, e do GUI de portage portato

Se desejar inclua, ou modifique um se já houver arquivo tipo "changelog.txt" falando sôbre a modificações que fez no software ou no código.

Uma outra coisa interessante, seria se o seu pacote foi modificado etc..., s efor bem usado o original, após compilar o fonte, empacote DEB, RPM, para que possa ser usados nas principais distros.

no meu caso, o Portato, s minha é a tradução oficial (está no Portage Gentoo) e os outros são pacotes específicos, que só funcionam em Entropy, em Sabayon, porisso não há sentido fazer versões DEB o RPM.

Boa tarde galera, sou novo por aqui. Alguém teria um resumão das licenças?
