Olá pessoal so meio novo com o slack ,mas to gostando muito ,só que recentemente eu troquei meu Drive de dvd ide , por uma sata , e eu gostaria de saber como fazer o Slackware detectar ele ,sendo que ele já esta instalado.
Alem disso apesar de o slack montar ,drives de cdrom , e pendrives automaticamente ele só me deixa ter acesso como root ,queria que um usuario normal tivesse acesso também.

Para vc t permissão como usuário para manejar os dispositivos d áudio, insira seu usuário dentro dos grupos: audio, video, cdrom e plugdev. Para inseri-los, vc deve alterar o arquivo /etc/group. Vai estar assim:

root::0:root
bin::1:root,bin,daemon
daemon::2:root,bin,daemon
sys::3:root,bin,adm
adm::4:root,adm,daemon
(...)
audio::17:renato
video::18:renato
cdrom::19:renato
(...)
plugdev:x:83:renato
power:x:84:
pop::90:pop

Perceba q eu adicionei meu usuário renato no grupo audio, video, cdrom e plugdev. Se vc quiser adicionar mais d um usuário no grupo, basta por vírgula e o nome do usuário. Salve o arquivo e pronto!

Agora sobre o seu DVD, veja como ele foi detectado com esse comando:

$ dmesg | grep DVD

E poste aki. Falows!

Eu ja tinha adicionado nos usuarios ,som ,cdrom , so falatava o plugdev , foi adicionar que o drive de dvd foi detectado pelo sistema ,monta automaticamente e meu usuario tem acesso aos arquivos.
Também ja testei um pendrive também funcionando blz ,era isso que eu queria muito obrigado pela ajuda.

Eu ja ia fechar o topico e vi um pequeno problema o dvd so monta no boot se eu tiro e coloco outro ele ,não monta

Bom, vc não me falou aonde q o seu DVD está sendo detectado, mas eu vou usar um exemplo aki e depois vc se adequa ao seu. Veja se o seu /etc/fstab, contém uma linha semelhante a esta:

/dev/hdb /mnt/dvd auto noauto,users,ro 0 0

No meu caso, o meu DVD foi detectado como /dev/hdb e o ponto de montagem no /mnt/dvd. Ae vc troca d acordo com a sua máquina e o ponto d montagem pode ser qq diretório seu.

Qq coisa tamo ae... falows!

Ou, kra... foi mal. Usa o dmesg sem a opção "| grep DVD" e posta d novo. É q no comando q pedi pra vc digitar não saiu o q eu queria. Com relação ao seu fstab, tá tudo aparentemente normal.

Kra, realmente o seu DVD foi detectado como /dev/sr0, mas isso não deveria impedir d ele ser montado automaticamente. Muito estranho... verifique se o udev está habilitado, dando ls -l /etc/rc.d/rc.udev. Se estiver "verdinho", então está ativado.

É... tá ativado. Bom, esse problema ae não sei como resolver, muito estranho. Tente pesquisar mais, ou encontrar alguém com o problema semelhante. Nos sites gringos costuma-se encontrar com mais facilidade.
