Video S3inc. 86c775/86c785 [RESOLVIDO]

Aqui vai mais um novato em linux.
Pessoal instalei o Slackware 12 configurei o xorgsetup porem não consigo melhorar a resolução da imagem que esta em 800x600 minha placa é uma s3 86c775/86c786 muito mas muito antiga mesmo esta placa porem quando rodava o fedora 9 ela funcionava em uma melhor resolução. Agradeço desde já.

Muito obrigado pela dica mas não deu certo, fiz as alterações propostas porem quando reiniciei o KDE o monitor apagou. É como se o driver da placa não estivesse correto. Fico no aguardo de mais ajuda.

Bom resolvi bater no que o amigo Renato_Pacheco passou, e procurando no google achei em um forum americano pessoas com um problema quase semelhante ao meu e reparei que no xorg.conf do pessoal o driver era o "vesa" e não o "S3" que era no meu caso. fiz esta alteração e funcionou!!! a resolução agora é de 1024x768.

Agora o que esta faltando é a frequencia que esta em 85hz. Valew
