Erro na Instalação Vlc [RESOLVIDO]

Boa tarde instalei o ubuntu 14.04

E notei que videos em mp4 e mov não estavam funcionando aparecia uma
mensagem dizendo que necessitava de um plugin h.264 decoder
e me apresentava gstreamer1.0-libav para instalaçao ao confirma
apareci uma tela dizendo que as dependecias nao podem ser resolvidas
e o seguinte erro na descrição

Os seguintes pacotes têm dependências não satisfeitas:

gstreamer1.0-libav: Depends: libavcodec-extra-54 (>= 6:9.13) mas a 7:1.2.5-1~trusty1 será instalada
Depends: libavformat54 (>= 6:9.1-1) mas a 7:1.2.5-1~trusty1 será instalada

Então resolvi tentar terminal
dei os seguintes comandos

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc

que me retonaram isso

tentei o apt-get -f install / dpkg --configure -a / apt-get upgrade
e tentei concertar os pacotes quebrados pleo synpatic mas dis que é impossivel

Oi Bruno,

Desde há meses estava com o mesmo problema e só encontrei soluções para versões mais antigas do Ubuntu (o meu é o 14.04). E são todas soluções mais complexas inclusive com edição de source.list. Tentei várias coisas sem sucesso. Mas no final fiz algo simples e deu certo:
0- Para garantir abra o terminal e escreva: sudo apt-get autoremove. Escreva sua senha e aceite (caso pergunte se realmente quer remover os arquivos desnecessários). Isto fará com que arquivos velhos e desnecessários sejam "jogados fora".
OBS: Se em qualquer momento o sistema pedir para reiniciar, faça-o (ou seja, reinicie seu computador) e continue de onde parou (não tem que reiniciar o processo descrito aqui, basta continuar).
1- Abra "Programas e Atualizações" (System Settings > Programas e Atualizações) e na aba "Aplicativos Ubuntu" vá abaixo em "Baixar de:" e escolha a opção "Servidor principal" (algumas vezes acontece dos servidores brasileiros não se conectarem bem aos 'fornecedores' de programas. Mas se preferir tentar com o servidor brasileiro faça-o, e se não der certo troque para "Servidor principal".
1.1- Agora clique na aba "Outros Programas" Procure pelos "ppas" do VLC (São aqueles que contêm a palavra "VLC" e VIDEOLAN - que devem estar em minúsculo). Provavelmente vai encontrar uns 4.
2- Clique sobre um deles e em seguida vá abaixo e clique em "Remover". Em seguida vá clicando em cada um deles e em "Remover". Remova todos que contenham "vlc" e "videolan".
3- Feche "Programas e atualizações" e ele te dirá que "As informações sobre aplicativos disponíveis está desatualizada", clique em "Recarregar" e espere recarregar. Se aparecer alguma atualização, atualize.
Lembre-se que se pedir para reiniciar o computador, reinicie.
4- Vá à página do "Videolan": http://www.videolan.org/ e clique em "Download VLC - versão 2.1.5 ubuntu" (se a versão for outra não tem problema, pode ser que alguma nova tenha aparecido desde o momento que acabei de escrever e o tempo que você demorou para fazer o Download).
5- Ao clicar em "Download VLC" a "Central de Programas do Ubuntu" vai abrir e basta você clicar em "Instalar".
6- Aguarde a instalação e Desfrute do VLC.
Para mim está funcionando perfeitamente. Uma outra opção muito boa é o smplayer, que também tenho usado com muita satisfação.

-vc atualizou do 12.04 p/ o 14.04 ??
-pergunto pq vc tem repositórios do precise na sua sources.list
