1. Como conectar 3g no ubuntun 11.10

Primeiramente, me desculpe se eu estiver colocando este topico no lugar errado, è meu primeiro topico aqui.
Sou extremamente novato no linux, instalei faz 2 dias e resolvi que ia aprender a mecher nele, foi quando veio a primeira dificuldade, a internet, eu me conecto atravez do 3g mais o programa do meu moden foi desenvolvido para windows por isso nao consigo conectar, nem mesmo por aquele asistente de 3g do linux
Bem, eu pesquisei muito mesmo uma soluçao, eu so encontrava sobre os modens huawei e ZTE, e mais da operadora claro, vamos as caracteristicas do meu moden: Moden Telsec modelo ts-599 da OI

Status: ao conectar, ele nao da nenhum sinal que foi conectado, nem mesmo a pasta que vem com o programa do moden è exibida, e quando eu tento akele comando "lsusb" e da o seginte:

pelo os outros post que eu vi, meu moden é esse ultimo, mais falta alguma coisa que eu não sei.

Na opção de editar conexões, em banda larga movel, o meu moden não aparece la, fica em "qualquer dispositivo".

Na minha pesquisa eu encontrei um site que ensina conectar extamente esse meu moden ts-599 ( http://www.internetbandalarga3g.com.br/index.php/telsec-ts-599/telsec-ts-599-linux-ubuntu ) Mais la fala sobre uma pasta com os programas que eu não tenho e não encontrei em lugar algum, entao ficou imposivel de eu tentar.
eu ja tentei praticamente todos os tutoriais que encontrei, instalei muita coisa que esses tutoriais pediam, e mesmo assim não obtive nenhum sinal de vida do moden.

No windows funciona perfeitamente, entao não ha problema com o moden.

Por favor, me respondam da maneira mais leiga possivel, pois so sei o basico do basico sobre os comandos do terminal.

Se não houver outra saida pra configurar, por favor me digam qual outra distribuição do linux eu posso conectar esse moden falcilmente.

Preciso muito de conectar esse moden, ja faz 2 dias que estou sem internet no meu notbook, se não conseguir, minha unica alternativa sera voltar para o windows.

È amigo, esse tutoo eu tbm ja tentei, apartir da segunda parte ele nao vai mais, la manda plugar o modem e ele ja é detectado, mais aki não é. parece que quando eu coloco akeles comados da primeira pagina, ele da muitos erros, por exempro, akele primeiro "sudo apt-get update" ele parece que atualiza alguma coisa, mais no final da isso:

mas isso aí não é erro. significa apenas que vc não instalou a cheve criptográfica para autenticação dos pacotes. nada mais.

qual a versão de seu ubuntu?

Bem, é o ubuntun 11.10, se eu não me engano esse ainda nao é final, não sei

como eu dice, sou muito leigo nisso, entao...
como eu faço essas coisas q vc falou?
eu tenho q criar o arquivo com akele codigo la, na pasta etc ne? como eu coloco? não consigo permissão de root pta criar arquivos.

a primeira coisa a fazer é espetar o modem na porta usb, esperar 60 segundos e rodar o comando abaixo no terminal:

$ dmesg | grep ttyUSB

e colocar a saída do comando aqui para eu analizar.

com o modeme spetado rode:

$ sudo dmesg | grep ttyACM*


rode do jeito que está acima ou vai vir muita coisa inútil. kero somente a saída se tiver linha com ttyACM*.
