galera preciso de uma ajuda, particionei o hd e instalei o ubuntu 10.10 funcionou perfeitamente com meu monitor philips crt 17 polegadas, o problema surgiu quando resolvi troca-lo por um lcd braview 14 polegadas. tudo funciona até o iniciar sessão, quando o ubuntu pede login do usuario e senha, quando digitada a senha a tela pisca e aparece a janela de logon novamente, como se fosse um looping eterno. o problema acabou assim que voltei a utilizar o monitor crt. preciso resolver o problema pois as outras maquinas sao lcd, o que faço?

Talvez vc precise mudar a resolução do vídeo, pois pode não ser compatível com o monitor.

Me passe a saida do comando
lspci -vv
se possivel também o seu arquivo xorg.conf
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conmf
É quase certo que é problema no xorg, ou ele está utilizando metodo de aceleração não suportado ou ainda utilizandof requencias não suportadas ou até mesmo como foi dito a resolução.

Entre em modo singles user (caso não tenha como acessar o terminal do ubuntu normalmente)
e digite os comandos que eu escrevi no post anterior e poste a saida dos mesmos.

galera acabo de testar com um monitor BENQ lcd 14 e funcionou normalmente, esta me parecendo problemas com a frequencia do monitor braview mesmo.
não estou com ele aki mas amanhã enviarei os dados do monitor braview
até

faça os seguintes passos (como root) e vejamos no que dá:
x -configure
Ele irá criar um arquivo xorg.conf novo e provavelmente irá atribuir o driver openchrome no mesmo,
mv xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorgf.conf
Isto irá mover o novo xorg.conf criado na pasta atual para a pasta do X.
nano /etc/X11/xorg.config
Então abrimos o xorg.conf encontre uma linha onde está escrito "Driver "openchrome"" e mude o "openchrome" para "vesa" pressione CTRL+O para salvar e de ENTER para confirmar depois CTRL+X fecha reinicie o micro
shutdown -r now
e veja no que dá, se possivel poste aqui o conteudo do seu xorg.conf.

PS: faça backup do seu xorg.conf situado na pasta etc/X11/ caso exista.

Caso persista o problema poste seu xorg.conf aqui que configuraremso a frequencia por enquanto apenas teste isso o prórpio driver openchrome tem suporte a LCD dependendo do rumo da coisa ativamos ele.

galera o openchrome deu certo e realmente o desbalanço de frequencia também é do monitor, coisas da eletronica... resolvi trocar o monitor por um maior, tambem LCD e ta funfando de beleza!
