e o programa ainda me avisa se tem uma versao mais atual,

Apareceu o ícone da HP na systray?

Se sim, abra as configurações e marque para cancelar esses avisos. Fuça aí!
Se não apareceu, procure no menu por HP que clique, e vai parecer. Ou encerre a sessão.

O formato do ícone é mundial! :)
Pelo menos a HP é a única que se preocupa com o Linux.
