ecra por hdmi não liga

olá,

comecei hoje a usar o debian wheezy e já tive a minha quota parte de aventura!
instalei tudo direito mas quando reinicei o sistema o ambiente grafico deixou de funcionar :/

pesquisei e pesquisei e lá consegui criar o ficheiro xorg.conf no /etc! mas pronto isso já está!
a questou que me faz abrir este tópico é que não consigo desligar o monitor do portatil e fazer aparecer a imagem no meu monitor de 22 polegadas ligado via hdmi.

o meu portatil tem esta configuração:
Processador Intel® Core™ i3 350M: 2.26 GHz - 2.13 GHz
ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD 5470 1G DDR3 VRAM
4GB de Ram

Como faço para aparecer a imagem na tela do ecra de 22 polegadas!?
Tem jeito de ligar sempre por este ecra? deixar o monitor do portatil sempre desligado?

Vc já tentou abrir 'monitores' ('ecrãs', no seu caso) pelo menu do Gnome 3?

Após abrir, vc clica em 'detectar ecrãs' e vê se ele reconhece e habilita o monitor externo.

Vi num outro tópico que vc criou um xorg.conf.

Acho que vc precisa criar outro, dessa vez com o monitor externo plugado.

Outra coisa: vc instalou o driver do ATI?

Eu postei como fazer isso no Ubuntu. No Wheezy, vou ver se acho um tutorial para vc.

ando pesquisando a utilidade e função do arquivo xorg.conf! pelo que percebo esse ficheiro guarda todas as configurações dos ecras e partes graficas do sistema, certo?

tenho que criar um xorg.conf novo ou altero o existente?
eu quando criei este xorg.conf já tinha o ecra externo plugado....

para que que eu vou instalar o apt-get install xfce-desktop?
o debian wheezy não usa o gnome? gnome 3 certo?

Tenta colocar as configurações do ecrã de 22 polegadas no xorg.conf que você criou.
Crie uma Section Screen e uma Section Monitor para ele.

Não tem nos repositórios do Debian porque é software beta.

Por isso é preciso baixar do site da ATI, instalar fora do X e remover a marca d'água que diz que é software beta.

Em tempo: o driver da ATI tem um programa chamado Catalist que faz as configurações para vc graficamente, ou seja, ele vai setar os dois monitores para vc.

Você ainda não instalou o driver proprietário, e isso pode eliminar a necessidade de mexer em arquivos de configuração "na mão".

Instale o "fglrx".

Mas antes instale o driver da tua placa ATI como o pinduvoz disse, talvez isso reso0lva o problema sem precisar mexer manualmente.
