@ kensai
If you try to remove catalyst-utils you'll find that in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/ you have libdri.so that points to libdri.xorg . libdri.xorg doesn't exist so I was suggesting to create it with a pre_install function that has to be put on top of catalyst-utils.install like this:
pre_install {
cp /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri.so /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri.xorg
}
This way when you install this package the first time it makes a backup of libdri.so (that is libdri.xorg) and you'll remove it you'll have a working symlink pointing to libdri from xorg.
Anyway I'm aware there will be corner cases, it is far better if xorg-server package provides libdri.xorg file as a backup.

Will this work with the update to xorg-server to 1.7.1?

@hei_ku: I installed this version (Last updated: Fri, 23 Oct 2009 18:09:45 +0000) yesterday and tried the update. It did not work.
If this is, what ATI/AMD wants, okay: Tomorrow i’m in a local computer parts store and buy a nVidia graphics card. I don’t want this issues everytime there are kernel updates or xorg updates.
