Como o próprio titulo, sempre que inicio ou reinicio. Tenho que colocar o hostname correto, aparece new-host, computer-3, etc. Existe alguma forma de o corrigir? Desde de já quero felicitar o @luistuz, foi graças a ele que instalei o Gentoo e sem duvida é um sistema diferente daquilo que estava habituado, mas satisfeito com o mesmo.

Imagino que seja o dhclient então...localize o arquivo /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf e coloque isto:



send host-name "ark"; 

supersede host-name "ark";

Creio que isto deva funcionar. Caso não funcione, recompile o networkmanager com a flag dhcpcd habilitada e a dhclient desabilitada. E aí imagino que deva resolver.

E aí...gostando do sistema? =]

Seguinte, você chegou a configurar o arquivo /etc/hosts, além do arquivo hostname?

Espectacular, fiz tudo direito. Voltei a certificar-me e esta tudo configurado no meu caso ark. Só que sempre que desligo ou reinicio aparece no terminal o que está em cima. E depois como entro com outro host, as definições do portage estão diferentes.

Você está usando o NetworkManager? SystemD? O sistema não está instalado em máquina virtual, correto?

Sim instalação num portátil(laptop) dell latitude, com NetworkManager e OpenRc.

Humm...imagino que seja o NetworkManager que esteja causando este incômodo. Já vi acontecer antes...

Continua igual, nao resolveu. Só é chato ter que abrir o terminal e colocar hostname sair e voltar já com o correcto.

Sabe me informar se o networkmanager foi instalado com a USE flag dhclient habilitada? Imagino que sim pois seria meio que padrão...

Se foi, tente fazer isto conforme está no manual:



# arquivo /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf

send host-name "ark";

Se ainda assim não funcionar, compartilha teus arquivos relacionados ao networkmanager, hosts, hostname e o arquivo net, se você tiver.

Hummm...meu hosts está assim:



# IPv4 and IPv6 localhost aliases

127.0.0.1	luiztux.homenetwork localhost

::1		luiztux.homenetwork localhost

Experimenta mudar.

Também pode tentar isto:



# arquivo etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

[main]

plugins=keyfile



[keyfile]

hostname=ark # testa sem aspas e com aspas

Caso você tenha o arquivo etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf, certifique-se de migrar todas as configurações deste arquivo para o etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf.
