e ae blz pessoal..
eu tou com um problema instalei o arch todo atualizado com o driver de video nouveau pois o novo xorg não funciona direito com driver nvidia173xx, minha placa de video é Geforce Fx5200 128mb, então o problema é que o monitor costuma ficar piscando de forma intermitente em média de cinco minutos por piscada.. rss
normalmente acontece com mais frequencia ao utilizar flash em sites, porem não acredito que seja problema no flash pois acontece em outra circunstancias também.
Você tão sabendo de algo como isso meu monitor é um flatron w1952tq da lg lcd

também uso Arch e meu monitor também é dessa marca e modelo, porém nos 2 PCs que tenho aqui em casa uma placa é Nvidia 9400GT e a outra é uma Nvidia Onboard [GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a], ambas usam os drivers 'nvidia' e 'nvidia-utils', não uso o driver nouveau que por sinal acho que é esse pacote:

xf86-video-nouveau-[versão].[arquitetura].pkg.tar.xz

meu xorg.conf segue abaixo, vai servir pra você (resolução padrão 1440x900, mas o driver é o altere por 'nouveau' ou 'nv'), se ficar ruim na postagem, passa seu email que envio pra você:

eu tou testando uns jogos com grafico 3d e ta deixando o linux praticamente parado de tão lerdo, vc acha que compensa fazer o downgrade do xorg para instalar o nvidia173xx, nossa ja tive muita dor de cabeça com esse novo xorg e tou ficando desanimado com o nouveau.
bom se eu não estiver errado em que a culpa é do nouveau, se você conhecer algum tutorial para fazer o downgrade passo a passo pois ja tive vendo uns e não consegui entender direito, me ajudaria muito

eu tenho uma fx5200 e aqui no meu PC funfa de boa cara com apenas esses:


# pacman -S nvidia-173xx nvidia-173xx-utils

em relação ao xorg nunca tive problemas, aqui em casa sempre que instalo o driver o video fica meio desconfigurado mas ai eu rodo:

# nvidia-xconfig

pronto.

e ae o seu xorg resolveu o problema de piscar o monitor valeu mesmo.. vou dar uma olhada no link e ja posto o resultado

brunotec e ae de boa, eu ja tentei por esse comando instalar o driver porem os mesmos foram removidos do repositório official, e no site da archlinux diz que foi mesmo removido por incompatibilidade do novo xorg
