Instalei Interface KDE no Ubuntu, e agora?

Não suportei a interface KDE no login, quero retirar, eu instalei por um artigo do TechTudo, e desinstalei pelo tutorial do TechTudo, só que conteinuou do mesmo geito, Ligo, Aparece Kubuntu, e a interface KDE no login, mais a interface já ta gnome. Como colocar a Gnome? Na minha opnião, se eu fosse usar KDE eu usava Windows, intão prefiro Gnome.

* CASO ALGUEM NÃO INTENDA O QUE EU QUERA:

EU QUERO FAZER COM QUE O COMPUTADOR LIGUE E APAREÇA UBUNTU E NÃO KUBUNTU, QUERO QUE A INTERFACE DO LOGIN SEJA DO UBUNTU E NÃO DO KUBUNTU!

# Puro erro seu ! instalar kde e intalar o kde são coisas beeem destintas , vá a unity / terminal e remova o kubuntu :

não escreva em letras maiúsculas

Se eu entendi, vc quer trocar sua interface de login, quer que seja a antiga, do GNOME, é isso?

Siga o sugerido pelo Lucas, ou alternativamente:

Bom, meus Linux de trabalho não são tipo ubuntu, são gentoos e RPMs, mas acho que o arquivo deve ser o mesmo.

Abra um terminal e faça este comando:

$ sudo gedit (gedit para o GNOME ou kwrite, se for KDE) /etc/conf.d/xdm

o arquivo que vai abrir é algo do tipo:

# We always try and start X on a static VT. The various DMs normally default
# to using VT7. If you wish to use the xdm init script, then you should ensure
# that the VT checked is the same VT your DM wants to use. We do this check to
# ensure that you haven't accidentally configured something to run on the VT

procure onde está a linha:

DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"

e troque-a por "gdm" ou "light-dm" e salve o arquivo, com o mesmo nome,sem trocar o nome.

-lmsalucas, eu prefiro usar o "kubuntu puro" instalado diretamente do live-cd pq o SO fica mais limpo e organizado.
-Sugiro que vc crie uma partição ext4 de 10gb só p/ testar novas distros ou desktops, assim vc evita "aborrecimentos", blz?
-Ubuntu fica legal com unity, shell e classic.

Não instale pacotes do KUbuntu, como o metapacote kubuntu-desktop, instale só os do KDE

Sei simm, o que eu quis dizer que pra usar KDE prefiro usar o Windows, porque o KDE é parecido com o windows por ter a barra em baixo, e eu não gostei disso, estou falando que para ter essa barra em baixo eu usaria windows, esse foi um dos motivos deu ir para o ubuntu, testei o mandriva e não suportei.

mas é simples
tu podes esta usando o KDE
e pode personalizar modificar
ai ele não fica parecido com o Windows hehehehe
