O kernel 4.4.0-72-generic está instalado, mas se vc não está conseguido entrar por ele, entre por um mais antigo e desinstale o que está apresentando problemas: sudo apt-get --purge remove linux-headers-4.4.0-72 linux-headers-4.4.0-72-generic
depois: sudo update-grub
É só esperar pela próxima atualização ou se vc quiser pode instalar o novo kernel manualmente, veja neste link:

Não sei se resolveu o problema mas a mensagem de erro sumiu.
Queria que o kernel fosse atualizado.

Ótimo!
Se já não iniciou, inicie o último Kernel e remova esse monte de Kernels antigos: sudo apt-get autoremove

O ideal é que fique somente 02.
Sugiro que teste bastante o Kernel mais estável.
