Agora você junta os pontinhos. O Linux não é sistema de clica-clica.
Veja a imagem que tive o trabalho de postar. Ali onde digitei, é o Dash.

Se ler com atenção, vai ver que demonstro no comentário supracitado.

Novamente no terminal: software-center
Veja se abre a Central de programas. Se abrir, coloque na caixa de busca: HP
Instale tudo o que se referir à impressora.

Depois, se estiver com o cabo USB conectado, faça o teste de impressão. Se não der certo, reinicie e tente imprimir novamente. Sempre com o cabo conectado e a impressora ligada.

Sera que resolveria se eu colocasse novamente o cd de instalação da impressora?

Sinceramente, não sei o que você fez com seu sistema.

Para informação, Linux não é Windows. Não precisa de CD para instalação de drivers. Tudo isso já vem incorporado no Linux. Quando conectar e ligar sua impressora, o sistema deveria te-la detectado. Ainda mais uma HP ou Epson, que possuem suporte no Linux.

Realmente, não sei como ajudar.

Só mais uma coisa, com a impressora ligada e conectada, poste o resultado do comando: lsusb

Quando dou o comando para imprimir ele reconhece a impressora mas não imprime
Onde dou este comando que vc falou, no terminal?
