Exclua a sources.list
Depois abra Programas e Atualizações. Uma nova sources.list será gerada.

Através dele, coloque os dados, versão do Ubuntu, branches, etc e ele criará a sources.list pra você.

Ser deletar o arquivo sources.list vai dar b.o. kkkk

Não existe uma política de backup na distro para essa finalidade.

Para voltar o padrão de fábrica usa o arquivo do cd de instalação do Ubuntu é mas seguro que procurar na internet.
