Cara eu usava o sabayon 5 e a atualização pro 6 foi tudo ok.

Agora na hora que eu atualizei o sistema dando um upgrade do gnome2 para o gnome3 o sistema não subia mais a interface gráfica. Fiquei bolado com esta situação, então como era a única interface instalada não me contentaria em formatar e instalar de novo então instalei o kde (pelo menos estava iniciando só em modo texto já conectado em minha rede e assim o instalei).

Depois disso a interface do kde subiu de boa, mas não era o intuito de subir o kde e sim o gnome3. Sendo assim fiz um logout e mudei a seção para gnome3 e o bichinho rodou numa boa. Fiquei testando por uma semana o gnome3 no sabayon e o mesmo não me deu problema (apesar do acontecido depois do upgrade). Como não houve problemas, resolvi desinstalar o kde (na bolação de desinstalar e o gnome3 não subir). Engraçado que o gnome3 só deu o ar da graça depois que eu instalei o kde logo depois da desinstalação do kde o gnome3 ficou de boa sozinho até agora ao postar esta resposta.

Não desinstale não. Deve ser alguma coisa com a interface.

Uma sugestão.

Como esta usando Fluxbox, desinstale tudo do kde e gnome3, faça um update e upgrade, reinicie o sistema e depois instale novamente o kde ou gnome3 e faça o teste para ver se o problema persiste.

para re-instalar o X, use o equo, e nao o portage (emerge) pq as versoes podem ser diferentes...

$ equo install --pretend xorg-server xorg-drivers
$ sudo equo install xorg-server xorg-drivers

como eu falei no outro topico, tente re-instalar o DBUS.
para evitar conflitos, abra a sessao em Fluxbox, ja que ele esta funcionando.
se nao conseguir abrir sessao de nenhum tipo, faz o seguinte..
ao aparecer a tela de login, inves de logar, digite CTRL+ALT+F1 e logue como root fora do X e faca as atualizacoes fora do X.

pelo que entendi, sua sessao KDE tb trava. o problema deve ser diferente do meu, pq o meu isso acontecia quando eu tinha tb GNOME3.

Neste meu Sabayon principal, eu tenho KDE e GNOME2 mantido (gosto mais de GNOME2 do que o 3)

. Na outra instalacao, eu tenho GNOME3 e XFCE, e frequentemente, GNOME3 trava, porisso mais uso os aplicativos de GNOME sob ambiente XFCE, como no meu artigo.

Então, deu uma melhorada...

Fiz o que o Alberto falou (antes de formatar e mandar ver, e eu estava prestes a isso) e deu uma melhorada. Fui pra linha de comando sem nenhuma inicialização gráfica e reinstalei o DBUS e o Xorg, nessa ordem. Digo melhorada porque no primeiro dia, domingo, voltei pro KDE, deu umas duas travadas. Ontem tive que fazer um trabalho que exigia estabilidade e fiquei no Fluxbox. Hoje, voltei pro KDE mas ainda não usei muito... Vou fazer as atualizações do sistema agora e ver no que dá. Vejamos. Se daqui a três dias não se repetir os erros, marco como resolvido. Mas ainda sinto um fedorzinho no ar...

Ei, galera, nem contei. Chegou a travar no Fluxbox também. Acho que isso reforçaria a tese do Alberto sobre o DBUS. Não é, Alberto?

Sim, está parecendo, mas vc já re-instalou o DBUS...
deveria ter sumido o problema.

par ver se tem bibliotecas com problemas, faça estes comando, com opção pretender, apenas.
demora um pouco.

$ equo libtest --pretend && equo deptest --pretend

poste aqui saida dos comandos.

Não durou. Essa tarde, novo travamento.

Estou rodando o teste da biblioteca... Mas fiquei curioso com algumas coisas. Não entendo nada, quero entender, e comecei a fuçar algumas coisas que postarei aqui pra ver se rola algum insite em vocês, mestres linux.

1-) Descobri que não tenho x11-base/xorg-x11-7.4-r1 instalado. Interfere?

2-) Fui checar o /var/lib/xdm depois que atualizei o sistema e reinstalei DBUS, Xorg-server e drivers novamente sem inicializar a interface gráfica. Vou postar ele aqui por uma curiosidade...

4-) Estou começando a cogitar novamente que o erro é no X, Alberto. É porque quando vou pro Fluxbox, uso os programas que foram instalados para rodar no X, saca? Acho que o erro pode estar aí ainda, então. (Curioso é que, mesmo utilizando programas para o X no Fluxbox, este trava menos.)

Seria tão bom resolver isso sem essa coisa de formatar e reinstalar, que é tão Windows (abolido da minha vida há mais de ano). Gosto do Sabayon, mesmo com os problemas... Eu até gosto dos problemas quando eles me ensinam algo também.

Execute o 'upgrade' do sistema para ver se resolve!

*uma dica importante com o travamento, podendo ser a CPU que esteja suja, empueirada que leve também esses travamentos. Já tive problemas paracido como esse no Debian e minimizei o problema fazendo uma faxina na CPU. Não custa nada dar uma limpeza.

O teste de bibliotecas está correto, sistema sem problemas.

o display do gerenciador de login (GDM, XDM etc..) não fica no tmp nem no RC, fica em /etc/conf.d/xdm



Vc já re-instalou xorg-server e xorg-driver ?
Acho que hj no sabayon, saiu uma nova versão do XORG. Portanto tente atualizar de novo.

# equo update
# equo upgrade

re-inicie o micro, se ainda não funcionar, estiver travando, faça o seguinte, copie seu xorg.conf para não perde-lo e "force" o sistema a fazer outro, automatico:

$ cd /
$ cd etc/X11
# cp xorg.conf xorg.conf.copia
# rm -f xorg.conf
# reboot

O Sabayon vai gerar um xorg.conf automatico, verifique se funciona

Sabe que eu já cogitei isso? Mas, bem... Primeiro, uso notebook. Isso é um problema, mas estou cogitando uma limpeza. (Quando eu tomar coragem de tentar fazer eu mesmo ou receber um extra pra levar numa assistência. Neste último caso, tenho medo do que podem fazer com meus dados... Meu Linux.) Mas tem um porém: eu pensei que nesse caso seria um travamento diferente. Tudo travaria simplesmente e eu não conseguiria fazer mais nada. Mas surge uma, sei lá a definição disso, "tela de sistema". Sabe quando o micro hiberna, você volta a usá-lo e, antes de tudo ficar preto e aparecer a caixa para digitação da senha, aparece um background do Sabayon? Então, é ele que surge do nada e apenas o touchpad continua a funcionar, isso é, posso brincar com o cursor pela tela a vontade. Mas nada de atalhos ou teclado. Acho que o bg é o mesmo da inicialização do sistema no modo verbose, mas não estou certo.

Bem... De qualquer forma, mesmo que essa não seja a solução, é algo que tá faltando no sistema. Vou fazê-lo.

Volto com qualquer novidade.

E essas 13 bibliotecas, Alberto?

Eu atualizei o sistema hoje sem inicialização gráfica e também reinstalei o DBUS, Xorg-Server e Xorg-Drivers. Até agora, nenhum travamento. Mas isso não está querendo dizer muito ultimamente. Tenho que esperar.
