Instalação do Alien [RESOLVIDO]

Pelo amor de Deus! Alguém poderia me dizer como faço para instalar esse tal de Alien e onde encontrá-lo? Não consigo converter nada no meu Ubuntu 7.10. Já tentei instalá-lo usando: # sudo apt-get install alien e nada acontece. Estou quase desistindo do Linux e Ficando com Windows Fácil de Instalar tudo.

por que vc quer usar alien no Ubuntu ??????
o ubuntu tem praticamente tudo nos repositórios ....

Existe Linux mais fácil de se instalar algo do que o Ubuntu?

O amigo acima já foi no item "Adicionar/Remover"? Ou então no "Gerenciador de pacotes Synaptic"?

Já fiz tudo isso aí. Você conhece outra forma de converter pacote rpm em deb no ubuntu 7.10?

Vc se certificou de que tem algum repositorio no seu sources.list?

digita no terminal sudo cat /etc/apt/sources.list... e cola aqui o resultado..

Como os colegas acima disseram.. Ubuntu tem praticamente tudo nos repositórios..

qual é o sentido de converter pacotes no Ubuntu.
Os repositórios de Ubuntu e Debian tem quase 20.000 pacotes ....

Ainda não, estou usando o Windows ainda para conexão com a Internet. Teria que reiniciar agora.
