Rodei o hp-doctor e instalou algumas dependências, mas na hora de baixar o plugin ficou assim:

Aeee! Funcionou! Segui os últimos passos, a instalação automática do plugin não funcionava mesmo. A hp está perfeita agora. E a respeito da matrixial? Também poderiam me ajudar?

Que bom amigo.

Dificilmente você vai encontrar um impressora sem nenhum tipo de suporte no GNU/Linux.

Agora eu vou sair, mas informe o modelo dessa outra impressora... Tenho certeza que alguém vai conseguir te ajudar.

Trata-se de uma matrixial LX-300+ da epson (que não fornece os drivers para linux pelo visto). Tentei fazer a instalação pelo genérico de 9 pinos e tudo vai bem. Só que não imprime nada depois de instalada, envia e fala que obteve sucesso na impressão mais nada sai. É um ubuntu 15.04 mas de 64bits nesse caso(acho que não fará tanta diferença). Demorarei a ter contato com o pc o qual eu me refiro(não está em minhas mãos no momento, então não há como mostrar saídas de comandos infelizmente) Por isso peço que me deem as sugestões que puderem para colocar em prática quando eu for até lá.
